A permanent residence permit lets you live in Georgia without renewing a temporary permit. This guide summarises, from the official Public Service Development Agency (SDA) page, who can apply, which documents are needed, the income rule and the state fees.
Who can get a permanent residence permit?
According to the SDA, the permit is issued in these cases:
- A minor child of a Georgian citizen.
- A parent of a minor Georgian citizen.
- The spouse of a Georgian citizen who has lived in Georgia for the last 5 years on a spouse permit.
- A foreigner who has lived in Georgia for the last 10 years on a temporary residence permit (periods of study, medical treatment and diplomatic employment are excluded).
